Letter-height sizing
- Customers choose a preset letter height or, when enabled, enter an exact height within the range you set
- The finished width is derived from the text at that physical letter height
- Finished dimensions include the border you configure on every edge of the cut lettering
- The customer sees the current letter height and overall sheet dimensions while they design
Stencil-safe design setup
- The starter stencil fonts use bridges to keep the centres of letters such as A, B and O attached when cut
- The merchant admin flags fonts that have not been marked as stencil-safe
- Stencil-safe is an advisory setting, so your production team stays in control of font approval
- Customers preview the lettering as negative space in the selected sheet before ordering
Materials and live pricing
- Set up the sheet materials your shop sells; the starter catalogue includes 7 mil, 10 mil and adhesive-backed Mylar
- Charge a base amount plus a price per non-space character for each letter-height tier
- Add optional sheet-size bands with a fixed charge and, if needed, a price per square centimetre

Production files and order handoff
- Compatible text-only designs export as physically calibrated flat-path SVGs for cutting
- Uploaded artwork, generated artwork and unavailable font paths use a masked SVG fallback that is not eligible for automatic DXF
- Optional DXF generation depends on SVG output and is available only when the design meets the flat text-only stencil contract

What is stencil sign design software?
Stencil sign design software lets a stencil maker or sign shop sell cut stencil sheets through its own website. Customers enter their wording, choose a letter height and sheet material, then see the finished bordered sheet size and live price before they order.
How does stencil sheet sizing work?
Letter height drives the design. The customiser scales the glyphs to the chosen physical height, derives the width from the text, then adds the merchant's border margin to every edge. The displayed and ordered dimensions are the finished overall sheet size.
Can customers choose exact letter heights?
Yes. You can keep preset letter-height tiers visible and enable an exact-height input alongside them. Exact entries are clamped to the eligible range you configure and priced against the next matching tier.
Which stencil sheet materials can I sell?
You control the sheet catalogue. The starter stencil setup includes 7 mil Mylar, 10 mil Mylar and adhesive-backed Mylar, and you can change the labels, descriptions, colours and pricing to match the materials your shop stocks.
How can a stencil order be priced?
Fixed-width stencil pricing starts with the price configured for the selected letter-height tier, then adds its per-character charge for non-space characters. Optional sheet-size bands can add a fixed sheet charge and a price per square centimetre based on the finished bordered dimensions. Material and total-price modifiers can be layered on top.
What makes a font stencil-safe?
A stencil-safe font uses bridges to keep enclosed letter centres attached to the sheet after cutting. The included stencil fonts are marked as bridged. When you add other fonts, the merchant admin flags any that are not marked stencil-safe, but the setting is advisory and your team should still verify the cut path.
Will every stencil order include SVG and DXF files?
SVG can be generated for stencil orders when SVG output is enabled. Compatible text-only designs with loaded font paths use a physically calibrated flat-path SVG. Automatic DXF is optional and only succeeds for that compatible flat SVG format. Uploaded or generated artwork, masked SVGs, unavailable font paths or incompatible sheet geometry can still produce a preview and fallback SVG, but they are not guaranteed to produce DXF.
What does the production team receive?
The order keeps the customer preview, wording, selected sheet and material, finished dimensions and letter-height data together. Manufacturer emails include links to the SVG and DXF when those files were successfully created, using a per-customiser email template you control.
