Add a Buy it now button to your customiser

Sign Customiser can now show a Buy it now button under the add-to-cart button. One click adds the sign to the cart and opens checkout. Merchants asked for this button. With it, a customer can add a sign to the cart and continue to shop, or go directly to checkout. The button is off by default. Your customiser does not change until you select the new setting.

What’s Changed

• New Show a Buy it now button setting. Select this setting in General Settings → Cart. Customers then see two buttons: the add-to-cart button on top and Buy it now under it.
• Choose the primary button. The Primary button setting chooses which button has a fill in your secondary colour: Add to cart or Buy it now. The other button has an outline. The add-to-cart button always stays on top.
• Change the button text. Change Buy it now button in Languages → your language → Checkout & cart.
• Shopify and WooCommerce stores. On Shopify, the button works with the Sign Customiser app block (inline or iframe), the app embed and the Sign Customiser Modal block. It also works with the WooCommerce embed and the Sign Customiser WordPress plugin. The button does not show on Wix or on other platforms.
• WooCommerce plugin 1.6.3. This plugin version sends your checkout URL to the customiser. If the customiser cannot find your checkout page, Buy it now does the same as your add-to-cart button.
• When the button does not show. The button does not show in Quote Mode or in Etsy mode. On Shopify, the button does not show when Action after product is added to cart is Straight to Checkout. With that setting, the add-to-cart button already opens checkout.
• Review Screen support. If you use the Review Screen, Finish still opens the review. Both buttons show on the review step.
• Tracking events. signCustomiserProductAddedToCart now has an intent value. The value is checkout for Buy it now and cart for all other adds. The new signCustomiserCheckoutStarted event fires immediately before checkout opens. It does not fire when checkout does not open. WooCommerce does not send signCustomiserProductAddedToCart. When the customiser is on a Shopify page without an iframe, Starter, Standard and Pro plans do not get these events. For the details on each platform, read the Storefront JavaScript events guide.
• API v3 support. The settings API has two new fields: show_buy_now_button and primary_cart_button (add_to_cart or buy_now). The labels API has a new label: price_button_buy_now.
