Manually calculate shipping cost value

To do these calculations yourself, first must have your shipping cost matrix provided to you by your supplier/freight company. The formula to calculate the shipping cost per centimeter squared based on a defined cost per measurement is as follows. For the current size range, you are editing the price formula; you should match the range limit value with the step in your shipping cost matrix and retrieve the cost price value. E.g. You have set a max size range that was 75cm, and in the shipping cost matrix, you have found the cost price for 75cm by 75cm to be a value of $98.00 Dimensions:75cm by 75cm Price:$98.00 Calculation:98 / (75*75) = $0.017 per centimeter~ number was rounded to 3 decimals

Determine material cost from average cost per letter

In this article, you will learn how to get your material cost when you receive an average cost per letter from your supplier. Make sure you have received your average cost per letter from your supplier Create a new pricing formula for your advanced model customiser. In your new pricing formula enter the following values and ensure only one size range is added for this pricing formula. Save your new pricing formula. If you have already added a font to your customiser then use that one in this process otherwise add a new one. For your font, assign the pricing rule to the new pricing you have created e.g. "material cost test" and hit save at the bottom of the form. Go to the customer-facing version of your customiser on your stores and on the page where your customiser lives enter the following string of characters. If using the English alphabet with lowercase letters, abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz, if using another language enter in all the characters of your alphabet and make sure to count the number of characters you have entered. Record the price displayed on your customiser and divide the price by 26 (the number of characters you have entered for the alphabet) which will give you your average cost - e.g. $646.51 / 26 = 24 = $24.84 - $24.84 is now your average cost for this font based on $1 per centimetre for the material cost. Change the material cost value for the price formula to then be as close as possible to the average cost per letter your supplier gave you from step 1. You now have an accurate material cost value you can use for your pricing formulas. You can go ahead and update your price formulas with the material cost value provided in step 8.

Pricing - Advanced letter model

Letter material cost

Letter Material Cost is an advanced pricing method that calculates costs based on the actual amount of material needed to cut your letters. Instead of charging a fixed price per letter, this feature traces the exact cutting path of each character and multiplies that length by your material cost per centimetre. This ensures you charge customers precisely for the material used, making your pricing more accurate and profitable. Key Benefits: Accurate pricing: Customers pay for exactly the material their design uses Font-sensitive pricing: Complex decorative fonts cost more than simple fonts Flexible pricing tiers: Set different material costs based on sign dimensions Real-time calculations: Prices update instantly as customers change their text or fonts

Font characters and minimum height

The minimum height for font characters can only be adjusted using the advanced letter model. The minimum height of the smallest character will always be assigned to the shortest character in a given combination of characters. The system will scale any single character down to the minimum height when presented by itself. For example, the height of 'a' or 'b' will be the same when they are the only characters used for the sign, despite the character 'b' being a taller character. However, when the following character combination, such as ‘ab’, is used for the sign, then the height of the sign will scale to a size where the ‘a’ character is given minimum height and ‘b’ would have a height relative to ‘a’. Further Explanation: Let's start with the word "google", this is a great word to use since it has what you would call an ascender ("l") and a descender ("g") that reaches a font's highest and lowest point and a base letter like "o". If the min-height of the smallest letter was set to 5cm the following outcomes for height would be shown in the measurements. The min-height for the smallest letter applies to the shortest letter on the word. In the word "google" this would be the letter "o" at a height of 5cm Adding "g" adds on top of that minimum height makes the height now 10cm Adding the "l" would further increase the height to 17cm
