Centimetres/Inches measurement display

Choose the units that shoppers see on your customiser. You can show centimetres, inches, or both.

Change the Measurement Unit

1. Open the merchant admin of Sign Customiser.

   • On Universal, go to web.signcustomiser.com. Click Customisers in the sidebar.

   • On Shopify, open the app from the Apps page in Shopify admin. Click Customisers.

2. Click the customiser that you want to change.

3. In the customiser menu, under Settings, click General Settings.

   • If the page shows a Menu button, click it first.

   • If the Settings items are hidden, click Settings first.

4. In General Style Settings, find Measurement Unit.

   

5. Select an option.

6. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Options

• Both Centimeters and Inches: shoppers see both units together, for example 50cm / 19.69in.

• Centimeters: shoppers see centimetres only.

• Inches: shoppers see inches only.

The option names use the US spelling that the product shows.

What shoppers see

The setting changes the measurements in the visualiser. It also changes the review screen and the size line in the cart.

With Both Centimeters and Inches, shoppers can change the unit of a custom size input. A button shows Use inches or Use cm. These are the default labels.

With Both Centimeters and Inches, the input opens in inches for shoppers in imperial markets when the storefront reports its unit system, as Shopify stores do. Otherwise, it opens in centimetres.

With Centimeters or Inches, the button does not show.

To change which measurements show in the visualiser and on the review screen, such as width only, use Show/hide Measurements. To change the measurements in the cart, use Measurements in the cart. The Size line in the cart also needs the measurement to be on in Show/hide Measurements. A custom size is the exception: when Show/hide Measurements is Do not show measurements, a custom size still shows its measurements on the review screen and in the Size line, unless Measurements in the cart is also Do not show measurements. Both settings are in the same section. Width only is not available for Frame Fit or Lightbox customisers.

This setting is not the Store unit

This Measurement Unit is for one customiser. It changes what shoppers see.

Your Store has a different Measurement Unit. You use that unit to enter sizes in the merchant admin.

• On Universal, it is under Your Store → Store Settings → Admin Settings.

• On Shopify, open the Home page of the app. Click Tools & Settings, then click Store Settings. Find Admin Settings.

When you create a customiser, it starts with the unit of your Store. A duplicate keeps the unit of the customiser that it copies. For more information, read Admin measurement units.
