Additional Options

Use Additional Input Options to offer customers choices that are not covered by other settings. You can use these options to provide greater flexibility, such as selecting a power supply, specifying a delivery date, or adding notes to help with manufacturing.

There are four input types, each offering different ways for customers to select or enter information:

• Yes / No

• Images

• Dropdown

• Notes

Yes / No

Displays two buttons side by side. Only the Yes option can add a price. Each option can exclude specific colours.

Images

Displays a row of image buttons, allowing customers to compare options visually. Each option can have its own price.

Dropdown

Displays a traditional dropdown menu. This is useful for options with three or more choices, such as power supplies. Each option can have its own price.

Notes

Displays a multi-line text box where customers can enter information. Their notes are included in the product data.

Accessing Additional Input Options

1. Go to the Sign Customiser Admin:

   • Universal subscribers: Go to Home in your account.

   • Shopify users: In your Shopify admin, open the Sign Customiser app.

2. Click on Customisers in the menu.

3. Select your customiser.

4. From the left-hand menu, go to Sign Components → Additional Input Options.

Step 1: Create a New Additional Input Option

1. Click Add Additional Option. If the list is empty, you can click Add New Additional Input Options instead. If the list has options, you can also click Add new Additional Input Option below the list.

2. Under Choose an input type, select an input type:

   • Yes / No

   • Images

   • Dropdown

   • Notes

3. Under Set the label and description, enter:

   • Label – the title displayed above the input options.

   • Description (optional) – text displayed below the title. You can also add a link to an external page.

Step 2: Configure the Additional Input Option

The setting can vary depending on the input type you select.

Yes / No Option

1. Under Yes/No Input, enter:

   • Yes Value – the positive response to the question in your label.

   • No Value – the negative response to the question in your label.

   

2. Under Default selected option, choose whether Yes or No should be selected by default.

3. (Optional) In Exclusions, select any colours that should be unavailable for each option:

   • Yes Option Colour Exclusions – colours unavailable when the customer selects the Yes option.

   • No Option Colour Exclusions – colours unavailable when the customer selects the No option.

4. (Optional) Under Popup Image, upload an image showing a real-life example or the product.

   Customers can view this image by hovering over or interacting with the relevant image link.

Images Options

1. In Images as Input, enter the following details for the first option:

   • Label – title of the option.

   • Value – a unique, descriptive key for the option. The order details do not show it. They show the Label.

   • Colour – the colour displayed as a swatch if no image is set.

   • Preview Image (Optional) – a thumbnail displayed on the selection button in the customiser.

   • Popup Image (Optional) – an image showing a real-life example of the item.

     Customers can view this image when they hover over or click on the image link.

   

2. Assign a price to the option. See Step 3: Assign Pricing in this guide.

3. To add more options, click on Add Another Section and repeat the process.

   

4. Click Save.

Dropdown

1. In Dropdown Input, enter:

   • Label – the title of the option.

   • Value – a unique, descriptive key for the option. The order details do not show it. They show the Label.

   • Display image – an image link displayed when the option is selected.

   

2. Assign a price to this choice. See Step 3: Assign Pricing in this guide.

3. To add more options, click on Add another option and repeat the process.

   

4. Click Save.

Notes

1. In Note Input, enter:

   • Character limit (optional) – the maximum number of text characters for notes.

   

Step 3: Assign Pricing

You can add a price to Yes / No, Images and Dropdown options. Notes options have no price.

1. Find the price settings for your input type:

   • Yes / No: Pricing (optional). The price applies only when the customer selects Yes.

   • Images and Dropdown: Additional Price (optional) under each choice.

2. Select one of the following:

   • None – no additional cost is added.

   • Base Price – adds a fixed amount.

   • Price Multiplier – multiplies the relevant sign price. For example, to add a charge of 20%, enter 1.2 as the multiplier. You can choose whether the multiplier is applied to:

     • Letter Price Only – the multiplier is applied to the letter price only.

     • Final Price (includes additional costs from other options) – the multiplier is applied after all the other costs have been added.

3. Click Save.
