Fulfillment Process
Our app provides several features to help you with order fulfilment through email automation and product/order data enrichment which ultimately saves time and brings fulfilment costs down. Ultimately it is up to you and your business to decide what works when it comes to order fulfilment for custom signs as there are numerous variables such as the options you provide your customers, the manufacturing process and if you are drop-shipping or have your own factory.
Export orders as CSV via email
Export your Sign Customiser orders as a CSV spreadsheet delivered to your email, with preset or custom date ranges and full customisation details.
Supplier / Manufacturer Emails
Sign Customiser allows you to automatically send an email with all the required details for your manufacturer to build the custom signs each time an order is created on your store. To use this feature, you must be on any plan other than Starter / Standard.
SVG, EPS and .AI files for manufacturing workflows
To speed up the manufacturing process, Sign Customiser can automatically generate an SVG file of the sign design for CNC machines and help speed up tracing the sign's letter layout. This SVG file will be automatically included in the order (available on supported platforms and through the API) and in the manufacturer's email generated for every order. You can also generate EPS and Illustrator-compatible PDF files for the same design. EPS opens in most cutting and routing software; the Illustrator-compatible PDF opens cleanly in Adobe Illustrator (it's saved with an.ai filename). Both are delivered through the same order attributes and manufacturer email as SVG, and can be turned on per customiser. This feature is available for all plans except "Starter" and "Standard" plans For detailed instructions on how to use SVG, EPS, and Illustrator-compatible PDF files in your manufacturing process please follow these guides. How to include SVG, EPS, and Illustrator-compatible PDF files in manufacturer emails
To include SVG, EPS, or Illustrator-compatible PDF files in your supplier/manufacturer email please follow these instructions. Navigate to Sign Customiser admin on your store. Click on "Customisers" in the home menu Click on the customiser you wish to edit Click on "Manufacturer Email" in the lefthand side menu In the template editor, use the variable picker to insert a download link for each file type you've enabled. The three variables are: svgPreviewLink — the SVG file URL epsPreviewLink — the EPS file URL aiPreviewLink — the Illustrator-compatible PDF (AI) file URL Wrap each variable in a link tag so it appears as a clickable download. The simplest pattern is an anchor ( <a> ) tag whose href points at the preview link variable, with visible text such as "Link" or "Download". Hit save at the bottom of the form. Only include the lines for the file types you've enabled in General Settings — variables for file types that aren't enabled will render as empty. This is what the email template looks like once download links have been added. Here is an example of the Manufacturer email with a SVG download link. EPS and AI links appear in the same way when those formats are enabled.
How to enable/disable SVG, EPS, and Illustrator-compatible PDF files for manufacturing

Click on "Customisers" in the home menu Click on the customiser you wish to edit Click on "General Settings" in the left-hand side menu Scroll down to the Generate SVG image of sign section. AI Image — an Illustrator-compatible PDF saved with an.ai filename that opens cleanly in Adobe Illustrator. Set any of these to Yes to enable the file type for this customiser. Hit save at the bottom of the form. EPS and AI files are converted from the generated SVG on our server, so turning on EPS or AI will also keep SVG generation enabled automatically.

However, since these are customised products, you may wish to hide them from being displayed on your storefront. In this guide, we will walk you through the various ways to hide these custom sign products from being displayed on your storefront.
Automatically deleting generated products
The products generated by the Sign Customiser are necessary for your users to purchase their customised products. Therefore, it is not possible to use Sign Customiser without generating products. However, we understand that this can be frustrating when viewing your product list. In this article, we will guide you on how to automatically delete these products using an app named Mechanic. Please note that: The Mechanic app is separate from the Sign Customiser and requires a monthly fee of $9 to use. Please be aware that the Mechanic app performs the action of deleting your products, and therefore, you use it at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible if the app deletes any wanted products

These includes settings recommended in the following guide: Create A Hidden Product in Shopify. Shopify products can have either an "Active" or "Unlisted" status. Active - Products appear in your store catalog and in search results Unlisted - Products are still "Active" however they no longer appear in your public store catalog or search results By default new products are created with the "Active" status, but you can configure Sign Customiser to create them as "Unlisted" if you wish.
Autogenerate SKU for sign products in Shopify?
Our app generates a new product in Shopify for every custom sign added to the cart by a customer. While the app does not assign SKUs automatically, you can implement an automatic SKU generation system using a third-party app. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you set this up.
Free Shipping for Custom Products in Shopify
If you are looking to provide free shipping for your custom sign products generated by our app, you might face challenges with Shopify's default settings. Shopify does not currently support assigning Shipping Profiles to product types or collections—only to specific products. This limitation can complicate setting up free shipping for products created by our customiser. While "free shipping discounts" exist in Shopify, they do not offer conditional rules to restrict the discount to specific product types or collections.
