Sign Customiser

Formally called background images - how to control the scene that the signs display on.

Last updated:

  1. In the admin, click Customisers.

  6. Click Save.

How to scale the visualiser with your background

For a merchant-uploaded background image, enter its real width in the unit shown in the fields. You can also save its height. The width controls the scale.

Select Enable Preview Images or Enable Review Screen Images. Enable Scale visualisation with size and turn off Drag, Scale, and Rotate. Uploaded backgrounds without a saved positive width keep the usual fit.

Uploaded background dimensions

For example, a background that represents 300 cm by 300 cm makes an 80 cm sign appear at the correct relative size.

Likewise, a 120 cm sign appears larger:

Set the default background size

You can set the real size of the built-in blue/grey background. This setting does not apply to an uploaded background.

The fields appear only when all these conditions are true:

  • Select Enable Preview Images or Enable Review Screen Images.

  • Enable Display default blue/gray background image.

  • Enable Scale visualisation with size.

  • Turn off Drag, Scale, Rotate.

Follow these steps to set the default background size:

  1. Open Features → Scene Editor - Background Images.

  2. Enter a positive value in Default background width.

  3. If needed, enter a value in Default background height.

  4. Click Save.

If you have not saved a value, the corresponding field is blank. The 300 cm placeholder is a recommendation in your Store’s measurement unit. The placeholder does not set a size.

The width controls proportional scaling. The height is stored but does not control the scale ratio.

After you save a positive width, the built-in background scales the sign on the visualiser and the Review screen. Leave the width blank to keep the usual fit.

Use the selected background in the product image

Enable Use the selected background in the product image under Visualiser Scaling.

When enabled and eligible, the cart and order product image uses the selected catalogue background. If the background has a positive real width, the image scales the sign against that width.

Without a positive width, the image uses the usual fit. When the selected background is the built-in blue/grey background, the image uses the colour scheme’s flat visualisation background colour.

This feature requires Scale visualisation with size. Turn off Drag, Scale, and Rotate. Shopper-uploaded backgrounds are not eligible.

This feature does not apply to Lightbox customisers. Lightbox uses Main Product Image when configured. If no Main Product Image is configured, the existing demonstration image is used.

When this option is disabled, the product image uses Main Product Image when configured. If no Main Product Image is configured, the existing demonstration image is used.
