Lightbox Types
Configure lightbox component types (Face, Back, Border, Internal Light) with colours, materials, and per-component pricing
Last updated:
Lightbox Types define the structural makeup of your lightbox signs. Each Lightbox Type (e.g. “Circle Shape”, “Rectangle”) specifies which component types are available and how they’re configured — including colours, materials, and per-component pricing.
You’ll find Lightbox Types under Sign Components → Lightbox Types in the admin sidebar. This section only appears for customisers using the Frame Fit pricing model.
Component Types
Each Lightbox Type is made up of individual component types — the physical parts of the lightbox that customers can customise:
-
Face — the front panel of the lightbox
-
Back — the rear panel
-
Border — the frame edge surrounding the lightbox
-
Internal Light — the illumination inside the lightbox
-
Top, Bottom, Left, Right — individual sides (available on some lightbox configurations)
-
Trim — decorative edging (optional)
Each component type can have its own set of colours and materials, and its own pricing. This gives you precise control over what customers can select and how much each part costs.

How Lightbox Type Pricing Works
Pricing for lightbox customisers is layered:
-
Base pricing — configured in Core Setup → Pricing. This is the area-based (CM²) or volume-based (CM³) price for the frame itself.
-
Component pricing — configured per component type within each Lightbox Type. This lets you charge differently for specific materials or colours on individual parts (e.g. a premium face material or an upgraded internal light).
-
Mounting fees — optional supplementary costs configured under Mountings.
Component pricing is added on top of your base pricing. If a customer selects a brushed aluminium face instead of a standard white face, the price difference is applied as an additional cost layered over the base frame price.
Channel letter equivalent: If you’re familiar with channel letter customisers, Lightbox Types are the equivalent of Letter Types. The difference is terminology — channel letters have letter parts (Face, Side, Trim, Halo), while lightboxes have component types (Face, Back, Border, Internal Light, etc.). See the Letter Parts article for details.
