Overview of Sign Components — the building blocks that define the visual and structural makeup of your signs

Last updated:

Sign Components are the building blocks that define the physical makeup of your signs. This is where you control what materials, colours, and pricing apply to each individual part of the sign — the face, the sides, the trim, the lighting, and so on.

The Sign Components section appears in the left-hand sidebar of your customiser admin. Which components you see depends on the type of customiser you’re running.

Components by Customiser Type

Channel Letter Customisers

Channel letter customisers use Letter Types. Each Letter Type (e.g. “3D Illuminated Acrylic”) contains individual letter parts:

  • Face — the front surface of the letter

  • Side — the return/edge of the letter

  • Trim — decorative trim cap

  • Halo — the backlit glow effect

Each letter part can have its own colours, materials, and pricing. See the Letter Parts article for configuration details.

Lightbox customisers use Lightbox Types. Each Lightbox Type (e.g. “Circle Shape”, “Rectangle”) contains individual component types:

  • Face — front panel

  • Back — rear panel

  • Border — frame edge

  • Internal Light — illumination

  • Top, Bottom, Left, Right — individual sides (where applicable)

Each component type can have its own colours, materials, and pricing. See the Lightbox Types article for configuration details.

Neon Customisers

Neon customisers use a different set of components:

  • Tube Colours — the colour of the neon tube

  • UV Colours — ultraviolet colour options

  • Materials — tube materials and finishes

  • Jackets — protective coatings for the tube

How Sign Components Relate to Pricing

Sign Components add a second layer of pricing on top of your base price:

  1. Base pricing — set in Core Setup → Pricing. This covers the fundamental cost of the sign (per-character for channel letters, per-area for lightboxes).

  2. Component pricing — set within each Letter Type, Lightbox Type, or neon component. Lets you charge more or less for specific materials, colours, or parts.

  3. Mounting fees — optional add-on costs configured under Mountings.

For example, a brushed stainless steel face on a channel letter can cost more than a standard acrylic face — that difference is handled through component pricing, not base pricing.
