How do I set a password if I signed up with Google?

You can sign in to the Sign Customiser merchant admin with Google, or with your email address and password.

If you created your account with Google, you can add a password to the same account. Google sign-in keeps working afterwards.

Sign in with Google

  1. Open the Sign Customiser login page.

  2. Select Sign in with Google.

  3. Choose the Google account linked to your Sign Customiser account.

  1. Open the Sign Customiser login page.

  2. Enter your email address and password.

  3. Select Log in.

Set a password if you signed up with Google

An account created with Google starts without a password. You can add one from your profile settings while you are signed in.

  1. Sign in with Google.

  2. Open Settings, then Profile.

  3. Find the Set a password section. It asks for a new password and a confirmation. It does not ask for a current password, because your account does not have one yet.

  4. Enter your new password twice, then select Set password.

You can now sign in with your email address and password. Google sign-in still works, so you can use whichever suits you.

If the section asks for a Current Password, your account already has one. Use the reset steps below if you cannot remember it.

Reset a forgotten password

Important

Use the exact email address for the account you want to change. If you have more than one Sign Customiser account, a reset sent to a different address will not change the password for the account you need.

  1. Open the Sign Customiser login page.

  2. Select Forgot your password?

  3. Enter the exact email address for the account you want to change.

  4. Select Email Password Reset Link.

  5. Open the latest password reset email and use its link within 60 minutes.

  6. On the Reset Password page, type the same email address again. The link does not fill in the email field for you.

  7. Enter and confirm your new password, then select Reset Password.

Reset links expire after 60 minutes. If a link has expired, return to the login page and request a new one. An expired link does not mean password reset is broken.

This route also works if you signed up with Google and cannot sign in at all. It sets a password on your existing account and leaves your Google sign-in in place.
