Translate option names, colours, fonts and sizes

Change the name on the option’s own page. That page shows the text in the primary language. Then translate the name that shoppers see under Settings -> Languages -> [target language].

1. Open Customisers -> [customiser].

2. Open the option’s own page. Edit its Label or Name.

3. Edit the Description field if the page has one.

4. Save the option wording.

5. Open Settings -> Languages.

6. Select Edit on the target language.

7. Find the matching field. Enter the translated name.

8. Select Save draft.

9. Select Preview to check the result. Then select Publish.

You can also change the text of the primary language in Settings -> Languages. When you publish the primary language, the option page shows the new text too.

Notices after you save an option page

• Your save replaced 1 unpublished draft in Languages. The number can be larger. The primary language had unpublished drafts of the fields that you saved. The text that you saved is now the published text in the primary language. Select Open Languages to check it.

• The text changed after you opened this page. Another person or process saved different text after you opened the page. Your changes are not saved. Select Reload page. Then make your changes again.

• Only part of your changes is saved. Another person or process changed text on this page after you opened it. Select Reload page. Then make the changes that are not saved again.

What the translated name changes

A translated name changes what shoppers see. The price, the option ID and the colour value stay the same.

Open Settings -> Theme Colors to change interface colours such as buttons and backgrounds. When the admin frame is narrower than 1040 px, this item is under Features instead.

All paths start from Customisers -> [customiser]. The available pages depend on the sign category.

• Neon colours: Sign Components -> Tube Colors -> [colour] -> Label

• Section titles and descriptions: Open the section page, for example Sizes. Edit the Title or Description fields in the settings card below the option list. Some pages name them Section Title and Section Description.

A letter part is a level between the type and the colour selection. Channel letter parts are Face / Front Lit, Side, Trim and Back Lit. Lightbox parts include Face, Back and Border.

Pricing tier labels and pricing-entry labels can stay in the pricing configuration. They do not always show in the language catalogue. Check the pricing page when a label does not show in Languages.

Review stale translations after a source edit

A change to option wording in the primary language can mark its translations Stale. After you save the wording, a Review language updates banner can appear. Select Review stale translations to open the language with the Stale filter. If the change affects more than one language, the button is Review Languages.

Check each stale field. Edit the translation, or select Accept current wording if it is still correct. To accept every stale draft translation that has text and no unsaved change, select Accept all current wording. This skips rows that you already changed in the draft. Then select Save draft. A translation that is stale only in the published language keeps its Stale mark until you publish the language.

Translate with AI fills blank translations. It also redoes stale translations that AI wrote. It does not change translations that you edited by hand.
